1. In what way are they likely to respond to the video on their own, e.g., make notes, do an activity, or think about the topic (learner-generated)?
As this video is specific to university students, those watching may feel more connected. I believe watching this video will spark many different ideas and conversations in their head, whether it is reflecting on their own personal experiences or experiences with friends. Also, they may be more inclined to take mental notes.
2. What activity could you suggest that they do after they have watched the video (designed)? What type of knowledge or skill would that activity help develop? What medium or technology would students use to do the activity?
In this ted talk, they highlight 3 different steps: Decrease stressors, reduce impact, and tackle the aftermath. An activity related to this would be to brainstorm different ways and/or strategies for each of these steps. For example, learners would identify specific stressors they may know of or they experience and talk about ways to decrease them or how they deal with them. The medium/technology for this activity is up to interpretation and creativity should not be limited.
3. How would students get feedback on the activity that you set? What medium or technology would they and/or you use for getting and giving feedback on their activity?
Written feedback would be given, but could also look at providing a voice recording. Learners would submit their assignment either on brightspace or make it a blog post on their website.
4. How much work for you would that activity cause? Would the work be both manageable and worthwhile? Could the activity be scaled for larger numbers of students?
This activity would not require too much work for me as it is more of a self-reflection/brainstorming activity. It would be worthwhile as it is important to understand differing approaches students have to the same topic and why they choose a specific approach/what influenced their decision.
