Hello! This peer-review is structured to provide feedback on each page/topic in your learning resource. We hope our peer review will provide you with valuable feedback. Overall this was a very well done learning resource as it was super organized and detailed. Great job and reach out if you have any questions!

Learning Theory
We enjoyed reading about how constructivism links to motivation. This learning theory was a great choice for your topic, especially due to the emphasis put on interacting with the material and promoting critical reflection by incorporating personal experience. Not sure if we missed this, but is there a specific strategy you are implementing into your resource to motivate your learners? (feedback can be a great motivator but is there anything else your learning resource could include?)

Learning Design
Amazing descriptions and thorough rationale. The learning design provides a clear overview of exactly what learners should be expecting out of this resource and a great explanation for the structuring of your resource which is super important. Overall, it is apparent a lot of thought went into this resource.

Learning Outcomes
Under each topic such as “Understanding Theories of Motivation”, “Applying Motivational Strategies”, etc., there is a great description of what students can expect the content to be about and what they can expect to learn. However, it may help to include one or two bullet points with more specific learning outcomes for each section. For example:

Understanding Theories of Motivation:

  • Describe the key concept beside each theory of motivation: Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, Self-Determination Theory, etc…
  • Compare the theories of motivation. In what ways do their key concepts differ/are there any similarities in their reasoning?

Assessment Plan
Great idea to provide topic options for the essay and report!
As your group has decided on a constructivism approach which heavily relies on collaboration as well as motivation (as you discussed), it may be a good idea to provide more opportunities for feedback and teamwork. To increase motivation in your learners, increasing formative assessments as well as more opportunities for feedback and active engagement that are ungraded will help students fuel their motivation. For example, your group could implement this by having mini quizzes at the end of each section that are ungraded but are used as a recap of the section – this way students can complete the mini quiz as many time as they want or blog posts could be another great way to increase active engagement where students share something that interested them about a required reading/video/podcast.

Another way to increase collaboration and align this resource with your learning theory is to break up the report into 2 reports that require group work – more opportunity to work together, learn from each other, and create a sense of belonging in a team to fuel motivation (as you mentioned).

Lastly, in the summative assessment section it says “final grades will comprise of marks from both formative and summative assessment” – however it is best if formative assessments do not contribute to the final grade but rather only have the purpose to give feedback – not sure if this was a mistype in your resource!

Learning Context and Inclusive Design
This section does a great job at acknowledging the diverse backgrounds and experiences of students and your group did a superb job aligning with UDL principles by encouraging adaptation and multiple means of engagement.

Technology Use and Rationale
-Wordpress was a great choice, easy to navigate especially with the use of embedded links
-Google forms is a great way for students to get feedback super quickly and since it can be used on any device it is great for inclusivity
-Have you considered what type of technology learners should be using when collaborating on assignments besides the powerpoint? Mattermost and Microsoft Teams are great communication resources along with Google Docs to work on assignments together in real-time.

Citations
-look great and organized appropriately

Learning Content
-We really like the examples provided for intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. It gets the point across and solidifies how to distinguish between them.
-Great idea to include links to videos, readings, and podcasts for different types of learners!
